first aid training : day 1 night
After we taken our sponsered dinner by st john, we back to camp and start our next activity. the night lecturer will be talking how to perform first aid in wildness
then they tell us what suppose be in the first aid kit, first aid kit should have plenty of bandage, 2 pair of glove. the most important and frequence use are triangle bandage, i think we should keep at least 5 of that. it use to bandage, immobilize and bind thing. the quality of the triangle bandange should be cloth but not linen cloth. linen cloth not firm enough.
after that we learn on making different type of bandage using triangle bandange, then learn how to use the walkie talkie, learn how to put patient on the stretcher.
after all of this, we seperate into 4 group n go for night rescue. our “victim” found lay near the longkang, poor guy.
he told us he fall down on the way walk back from toilet and he is alone.
then our team leader keep call back to the base to require for action, all other team member just stand there dunno what to do(include me) then one of them go near check the patient, talk with him and ask what wrong. at the same time then another guy go and check his injury. they checking the chest, left right hand, left leg then they start calling in the stretcher.
now we are the victim because our patient is a quite strong guy with many muscle. we have to carry this heavy weight guy to walk around half mile to the base.
once we reach the camp, the trainer start to told us our mistake
1, why the team leader keep talking in the walkie, ask for how to handle the patient from the base which is miles away. he should react by himself and try his effort to help the patient.
2, the team is ruin because there are no instruction given by the leader, everyone stand there watching show. the patient lay there for 15 min no one go to check what is his problem and lay there for 45 min only we bring him up to the stretcher
3, we did not check on back of his body for wound and etc.
4, we should ask the patient whatever he can walk or not, is it more easy to bring out a patient that can walk by himself then bring him out using a stretcher.
5, whatever we do we should tell the patient first, no people like others to touch on thier body without authority unless they are fainted. patient are much more cooperate if they know what you are doing and they will help you if they are confidence to you.
6. do not argue with the team leader in front the patient, the patient will lose confidence on the rescue and may resist to give coorperation on the rescue process.
after that we go back to the base and sleep. there are something that i feel very stupid which is…
first at all i follow my sister went into a room, then i notice the whole room is girl, so i say .. o.. sorry, didnt notice this is a girl room then i want to go out from the room already. but than my sister stop me and tell me.. at that corner actually a guy was sleep there, so ask me sleep beside that guy to act as a barrier from stopping the guy roll over, hahaahha. . i wonder why that guy so not understanding, or he just because wan to sleep with a whole room of girl?
then the 2nd thing more idoit. after all light was close, i on my mobile msn and chat a while with my friend. suddenlly a flash alert me, that stupid guy snapping picture in the room. = =”. than that guy snap another, those girl are so mad at home, one of them directly warning him do not do that again.
wat an idoit snapping picture when everyone are trying to sleep. when ask him why he doing that.. he told us for memorize = = crazy de
then 3rd.. someone talk in the phone quite loud at around 3am (i think), that idoit been wake by the noise then he shout inside the room “stop talking so loud at the night, everyone want to have a sleep” wtf.. end out i get awaked by his voice.
